This custom web app is used by the National Gallery of Canada to collect nominations and votes for the annual Sobeys Art Award.
Our team digitized a nomination and judging process that had been a tedious manual task for 20 years. Thanks to the new app, the heavy time burden has been lifted, and the gallery can deliver smooth, tailored experiences for artists, jurors, and administrators.
PROJECT CATALYST
Every year, the National Gallery of Canada organizes the Sobey Art Award, supporting contemporary Canadian artists through financial support and recognition across Canada.
The process of collecting votes and tallying the results was done manually with the use of emails and spreadsheets – no online system, app or website existed that suited the gallery’s unique needs.
A custom solution was needed that would create a streamlined and easy experience for artists to submit their work, for the jurors to rank the artists, and gallery administrators to track and store results and data.
