Skills Canada is a Canadian non-profit organization, dedicated to the promotion of careers in technology and skilled trades. They were looking to build a website to host all their exciting video content.
PROJECT CATALYST
Skills Canada was looking to create a new video platform that would deliver content about skilled trades with the goal to inspire, entertain, and educate. This platform is targeted to students, parents and teachers to help them learn about careers in the skilled trades and watch past Skills Canada events.
Since this platform was a new service offering, it also required its own brand and logo design.
U7 worked with the Skills team to create the new brand, design and build the video platform, and launch it in 2022.
The SkillsTV logo was designed to have its own unique look, while still tying into the overall branding of Skills Canada.
The font and hexagon shape come from the SCC brand, but the royal blue colour is unique for Skills TV.
Having their own video platform (rather than hosting content on another site) creates an immersive experience that keeps the SkillsTV audience focused on skills content.
The ‘My List’ feature allows users to easily add and remove videos they want to save or watch later
Different categories of videos are highlighted within the platform with large, eye catching images
Users can watch and learn on any device!
